JAM ("Jobs Around Me," "we," "our," or "us") operates the JAM mobile application and the website jam-jobs-around-me.web.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

You can deny location permission, and the app will default to a general area. You can change location permissions in your device settings at any time.

Job listings expire after 30 days. Interaction data (views, calls, etc.) is retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

JAM is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including Firebase Security Rules to control data access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Third-Party Services

JAM may link to third-party services (Google Maps for directions, phone dialer for calls, email client for emails). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.

9. Community Listings Data

Some listings on JAM are compiled from publicly available business records — specifically business name, address, phone number, and website information from sources like Google Maps Places — combined with an observed hiring signal (e.g., a publicly visible "now hiring" sign or public business directory entry). These listings are clearly labeled in the app as Community Listings and shown with an "UNVERIFIED" badge until claimed by the business owner.

JAM does not collect, scrape, or display position titles, pay rates, hours, or job descriptions for unverified Community Listings. These details are added only when a business owner claims their listing and provides them directly.

10. Removal Requests

Business owners (or authorized representatives) can request removal of any Community Listing using the in-app removal form. All removal requests are manually reviewed within 24–48 hours. Approved removals result in the listing being hidden from public view immediately and permanently deleted from our database after a 30-day retention period.

11. Business Claim Process

Business owners can claim their Community Listing to add specific job details (position, pay, etc.) and gain ownership of the listing. Ownership verification is performed automatically via email match (when the claimer's email matches the business's public email) or domain match (when the email domain matches the business's website domain). Claims that cannot be auto-verified enter a manual review queue and are typically resolved within 24–48 hours.

Once a Community Listing is claimed, ownership is transferred to the claimer, the listing is marked as verified, and the business owner gains full edit and delete permissions over the listing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or website.
