JAM ("Jobs Around Me," "we," "our," or "us") operates the JAM mobile application and the website jam-jobs-around-me.web.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

Business name, address, phone number, and email when posting a job
Google account information if you sign in with Google
Job details including title, pay range, job type, industry, and urgency

Information collected automatically:

Approximate device location (with your permission) to show jobs near you
App usage data including job views, searches, and filter selections
Device information (operating system, app version)
Anonymous interaction data (e.g., when you tap call, email, or directions on a job listing)

2. How We Use Your Information

To display job listings on the map near your location
To enable job seekers to contact businesses (call, email, directions)
To display your job posting to nearby job seekers
To improve the Service and understand usage patterns
To send notifications about your listing (e.g., expiration reminders)
To analyze labor market trends in aggregate, anonymized form

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

Job listings: Business name, address, job details, phone number, and email are displayed publicly to job seekers using the app.
Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, analytics, and hosting. Their privacy policies apply to their services.
Aggregate data: We may share anonymized, aggregate labor market data that cannot identify any individual or specific business.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Location Data

JAM requests access to your device location to show jobs near you. Location data is used to:

Center the map on your current position
Calculate distance between you and job listings
Record approximate location when you interact with a listing (in anonymized form)

You can deny location permission, and the app will default to a general area. You can change location permissions in your device settings at any time.

5. Data Retention

Job listings expire after 30 days. Interaction data (views, calls, etc.) is retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

6. Children's Privacy

JAM is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including Firebase Security Rules to control data access. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Third-Party Services

JAM may link to third-party services (Google Maps for directions, phone dialer for calls, email client for emails). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or website.
